„Amnesia Skies, Silence so Blue“ deals with entanglements of the reality of a dying planet and the marketing of spectacular future scenarios. The focus is on how the colonization of alien planets and the privatization of space is implemented as a beacon of hope for a multi-planetary species in the near future. This narrative not only legitimizes the further exploitation of resources, but ultimately paints the Earth as expendable, thus evading social and ecological responsibility, and can only represent a utopia for a very small elite. Of particular interest is which patterns of thought are interwoven in images, representations, research, technologies, and social narratives in order to set the course for a Sci Fi capitalism. On the three screens short sequences are looping: an appropriation of a scene of Kubrick‘s Space Odyssey, twisting his narrative of linear progress from the bone as murder weapon to space domination; an astronaut banned on the screen like a demon in the mirror; a chessboard setup where the viewer‘s gaze becomes one of a chess figure in the game‘s starting constellation.
